01 / THE PATTERN

You probably know her.

She is the reliable one, and her reliability is more comprehensive than the job description suggests. Difficult work finds its way to her because she absorbs it faster than the process would.

Deadlines that were about to slip stop slipping. Struggling team members get quietly supported without ever being managed on it. The organisation has learned to route pressure through her, and she has learned to take it.

01

She finds it easier to do the difficult piece herself than explain it twice.

02

She is the person everyone calls when something goes wrong.

03

She protects her team by absorbing pressure that should be sitting elsewhere.

04

She knows details nobody else knows because handing them over feels inefficient.

05

Her capability keeps getting rewarded, so the pattern strengthens the more senior she becomes.

02 / WHAT HAPPENS OVER TIME

Capability becomes a dependency.

She becomes central to more of the difficult decisions and more of the sensitive knowledge. Her team gets fewer chances to carry complex work because she is already carrying it. Her own capacity starts to define the capacity of the function.

01

Capability

She becomes known as the person who can handle difficult situations.

02

Over-functioning

She takes on work because it feels faster, safer or easier than delegating it.

03

Dependency

Judgement, knowledge and responsibility collect around her.

04

Capacity ceiling

The team scales only as far as one person's time and attention allow.

03 / WHY IT PERSISTS

She sees it as competence.

Ultra-independence usually develops long before the workplace. Self-reliance and control become familiar, tied to a sense of safety and to a sense of self.

Senior environments then spend years reinforcing it. Stepping in gets praised, fixing crises gets promoted, needing very little support makes a person valuable. The behaviour that started as survival becomes the behaviour that gets rewarded, and by senior leadership it is fused with how she understands her own professional value.

If you asked her about it, she would call it being good at her job.

04 / THE PROGRAMME

Six weeks, one-to-one.

Six weekly private online sessions of 90 minutes, delivering the methodology from Healing the Ultra-Independent Heart and The Code, tuned to the participant's own patterns, role and organisation.

What ultra-independence is, where hers came from and what it is costing her.

Week 01.                     The Armour

Week 02.                     The Machinery

How the Reticular Activating System filters reality according to beliefs formed early,  keeping the armour looking like truth.

Week 03.                     The Reprogram

The three-part structural code from The Code, rewriting the sentences her RAS is filtering for with the past, now and because architecture.

Week 04.                     The Inheritance

Inherited responsibility patterns and the early scripts around competence, safety and support.

Week 05.                     Leadership Dynamics

How control, delegation, authority and decision ownership show up in her working day and her peer relationships.

Week 06.                    The Release

Boundaries, letting go and knowing her worth. Taking the armour off because she no longer needs it.

05 / WHAT ORGANISATIONS GAIN

Capacity around the leader.

Stronger delegation

She becomes deliberate about what needs her judgement and what should sit elsewhere.

Team development

Her people get to own complex work, make decisions and build capability of their own.

Succession resilience

Critical knowledge and responsibility stop concentrating around one individual.

Sustainable performance

She keeps her standards while putting down the load she was quietly carrying alone.

06 / IN THEIR WORDS

What the work does.

I am an ultra-independent through-and-through, and I am learning how to keep that independence in check when necessary and when to embrace that strength. I have learned more and healed more with Gail in the last year than I ever did with any other coaching.

07 / GAIL WEINER

Twenty-five years inside organisations.

Gail started as a business and systems analyst in mobile and went on to run a 60-person business unit with a seat at the executive table. She founded Simpatico Recruitment in 2014 and has spent the years since watching how organisations route pressure, judgement and knowledge through the individuals who can absorb it.

She has seen these patterns from every angle: as the person carrying them, as the person managing others who carry them, and as the person recruited to solve the problems they create.

Since 2020 she has worked privately with ultra-independent women on extreme self-reliance, over-responsibility and difficulty receiving support. Her books are published through Simpatico Publishing, which she founded in 2024, and she now works with senior and C-suite women internationally.

Then a short conversation is probably worth having. We can look at who they are, what the pattern looks like inside your organisation and whether this programme is right for them.
